Faculty mentors

“Carthage faculty have been open to spending time after class contributing to my learning. Their willingness to help and openness to meet after class hours have helped me form impactful relationships and excel in my education.”

Favorite class

“My favorite Carthage class was Physics I for Healthcare Professions because the teacher made the class fun. It also had a difficulty that challenged me and contributed to my knowledge of my intended profession.”

Toughest class

“My toughest class at Carthage has been Structural Kinesiology because the sheer volume of information and the time we had to learn it was a lot.”

Internships or campus employment

“I have worked in the Athletics Department, on the Firebird productions crew, in the Anatomy and Physiology Lab, and most notably, as a resident assistant at Carthage.”

Favorite spot on campus

“My favorite spot on campus is the Esports Arena in the Todd Wehr Center. It’s the coolest, and when I’m there, it is usually when I have completed all of my work and it is a Friday.”

Favorite memory

“I love when the volleyball team wins games, and when they won the NCAA trophy.”

Best study tip

“I found that having an isolated place where I feel safe and comfortable, having scheduled breaks between studying or homework, and switching every so often between studying or assignments helped me learn best.”

Best tip for making friends

“Going to sports events, club meetings, and The Caf is where I made most of my friends on the Carthage campus.”

Biggest surprise

“The biggest surprise has been faculty and staff’s sheer amount of help with literally everything. They do a great job of having all the resources necessary for their students.”
